Casimír Vildosola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Javier Paris, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 27th minute, Elías Bazan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Unai Duñabeitia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vicente Raglianti read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Caraguane FC's Luis Javier Paris got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Conrado Tuñon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Vicente Raglianti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Conrado Tuñon to make the kick off. In the 54th minute of the match Serenita got a corner. Caraguane FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gaston Pacull ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Unai Duñabeitia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 66 minutes into the match, Unai Duñabeitia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vicente Raglianti. Caraguane FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Unai Duñabeitia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Luis Javier Paris had several of the Serenita's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 70 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-3 score and a disappointed Casimír Vildosola as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 75th minute, Elías Bazan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Casimír Vildosola. The goal made the score 2-4. Luis Javier Paris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vicente Raglianti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Unai Duñabeitia, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Elías Bazan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Casimír Vildosola having to make a save. Elías Bazan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 91 minutes into the game, Carlos Gustavo Izamit was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Serenita's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caraguane FC the free kick.
