The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, CF Teresinense's Amílton Vasconcelos got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Chico Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Meireles in the 9th minute of play. Valdomiro Sena hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Chico Cabral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dida Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th match minute, Verdadeira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Meireles to maneuver through the defense. Celsinho Salgado hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Dino de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raúl Tepedino having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Dino de Queiroz in the 18th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Chico Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dida Cunha in the 22nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Verdadeira's Celsinho Salgado got a free kick in the 25th minute. CF Teresinense's Chico Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Meireles in the 28th minute of play. Dida Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dino de Queiroz might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Raúl Tepedino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dino de Queiroz ran back to his position shaking his head. Dino de Queiroz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Raúl Tepedino having to make a save. Amílton Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Dino de Queiroz sped through Verdadeira's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Raúl Tepedino. Chico Cabral was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Genílson Pitta. In the 64th minute, Emanuel Meireles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Verdadeira fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After having played for 68 minutes, Dino de Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CF Teresinense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dino de Queiroz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to CF Teresinense getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Samuel Albuquerque hit a great ball. In the 70th minute of the match Chico Gonçalves shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Chico Cabral showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Genílson Pitta fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Verdadeira's protests and gave Genílson Pitta a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd minute, Emanuel Meireles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to CF Teresinense getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Alessandro Esteves hit a great ball. Dida Cunha received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Chico Cabral came out and tried to block the shot, but Dida Cunha slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 89th minute. Valdir Vaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Raúl Tepedino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 95 played minutes CF Teresinense got a freekick which was hit by Amílton Vasconcelos. Chico Cabral acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 96th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Chico Gonçalves. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Verdadeira eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
