If Miguel Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 13 minutes, Arthur de Amaral made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Cangaceiros PE's Danilo Veloso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Adrianinho Saldanha let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 17th minute shot 1-1 at rihgt post. 20 minutes into the game, Cléber Capixaba cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Simão Siqueira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Adrianinho Saldanha came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Cangaceiros PE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adrianinho Saldanha couldn't finish the play. If Adrianinho Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Adrianinho Saldanha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Cléber Capixaba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cangaceiros PE's supporters rose to their feet, but Cléber Capixaba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simão Siqueira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Danilo Veloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Barbosa in the 37th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Adrianinho Saldanha put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Simão Siqueira. Simão Siqueira came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Cangaceiros PE's Adrianinho Saldanha. But to his dismay, Adrianinho Saldanha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adrianinho Saldanha in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Simão Siqueira saved PAYSANDU from getting behind. In the 59th minute Adrianinho Saldanha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simão Siqueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th minute Giovani Penha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simão Siqueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giovani Penha took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 61st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Simão Siqueira. PAYSANDU's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Simão Siqueira came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Cangaceiros PE's Adrianinho Saldanha. But to his dismay, Adrianinho Saldanha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. In the 69th match minute, Cangaceiros PE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Gustavo Mazza to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute of the match Edmundo Miranda shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Danilo Veloso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cléber Capixaba struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Simão Siqueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cangaceiros PE. When Adrianinho Saldanha came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Cangaceiros PE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adrianinho Saldanha couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, PAYSANDU's Miguel Barbosa got a free kick in the 78th minute. 79 minutes into the game, one of PAYSANDU:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Gugu Saldanha placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Cléber Capixaba might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Simão Siqueira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cléber Capixaba ran back to his position shaking his head. Cléber Capixaba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Adrianinho Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 97 minutes into the game, Cangaceiros PE's Cléber Capixaba nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Simão Siqueira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-2. There was no doubt that Cangaceiros PE were the better team. Cangaceiros PE's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
