Ştefan Magheran's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but John Osomo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Kléberson Guedes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ademar Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vassilis Nentakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caio Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute, PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ştefan Magheran fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. John Osomo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frits van Gaal in the 34th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nildo Meireles got free with John Osomo in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Caio Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vassilis Nentakis having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ademar Rodrigues was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Ademar Rodrigues notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of S.E. Pindorama Eagles's Vassilis Nentakis. Vassilis Nentakis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Ştefan Magheran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matías Azevedo got free with Vassilis Nentakis in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 95 minutes into the match, PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Maicon Palmeira came free, but John Osomo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
