After 9 minutes of play, U21 Canada's Gilberto Stafford made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilson Quiambaw was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Dolphy Gosoc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute Clément Barton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Quiambaw saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to U21 Canada getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Garret Bourque hit a great ball. Georges Huard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Wilson Quiambaw tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Gilberto Stafford notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of U21 Philippines's Wilson Quiambaw. Wilson Quiambaw was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. U21 Philippines's Wilson Quiambaw played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Stafford in the 28th minute of play. A hard shot 32 in the game by Dolphy Gosoc from a close distance when the talented Kris Cole managed to make a qualified save. U21 Canada's players were relieved. After 33 played minutes U21 Canada got a freekick which was hit by Mervin Snell. After a rather tough play, U21 Philippines's Henriqua Simangan got a free kick in the 35th minute. Dolphy Gosoc could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Kris Cole made a huge save. After 37 played minutes U21 Canada got a freekick which was hit by Gilberto Stafford. U21 Canada's Kris Cole played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodel Pumaren in the 45th minute of play. After the first half U21 Canada were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dolphy Gosoc made a kick off. In the 56th match minute, U21 Philippines was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dolphy Gosoc to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute, Rodel Pumaren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 64th minute, Theodore Amurao hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Canada's Winston Ratté was substituted for Kelvin Prince. Theodore Amurao hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Gilberto Stafford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. U21 Canada's Diego Simeone was substituted for Luciano Jorgensen. After 75 played minutes U21 Canada got a freekick which was hit by Diego Simeone. Georges Huard hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Theodore Amurao made in the 79th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Oliver Macasa. Rodel Pumaren's late challenge caught a U21 Canada's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodel Pumaren helped the player get up and apologised. Wilson Quiambaw showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Georges Huard in the 90th minute of the match. 94 minutes into the match, Gilberto Stafford dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Wilson Quiambaw, 0-6. The U21 Canada supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing U21 Canada would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
