Isaias Galarneau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Želimir Vučković in the 20th minute of play. When Želimir Vučković came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Croatia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Želimir Vučković couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Croatia's Igor Dokoza got control of the ball when Humberto Velasquez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Isaias Galarneau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Želimir Vučković in the 26th minute of the match. Isaias Galarneau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ljubomir Kerman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateo Letica in the 35th minute of play forced Canada's goalkeeper Isaias Galarneau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Isaias Galarneau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mateo Letica in the 35th minute of the match. Želimir Vučković received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Isaias Galarneau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Igor Dokoza made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Humberto Velasquez sent off a good shot on target. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mateo Letica to strike the kick off in the second half. Želimir Vučković might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Isaias Galarneau. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Želimir Vučković ran back to his position shaking his head. 57 minutes into the match, Humberto Velasquez notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Croatia's Igor Dokoza. Igor Dokoza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Igor Dokoza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claude Duhamel's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Best in the 63rd minute of play forced Croatia's goalkeeper Igor Dokoza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Croatia's goalkeeper Igor Dokoza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 71 minutes into the match, Croatia's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Velasquez came free, but Igor Dokoza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Croatia's zone, Clark Barteaux stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Igor Dokoza came out of the goal and Clark Barteaux tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 98th minute, Claude Duhamel sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Croatia's Igor Dokoza didn't even have to move. When the referee ended the match the Canada players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
