Spectators: 5149 (Terracing: 3862, Seating: 1184, VIP seats: 103) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Piet Pistol started the match with the kick off. Roland Bajzík fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Corné Heida having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Wim Cohen notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Slovakia's René Zeman. René Zeman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Piet Pistol could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but René Zeman made a huge save. René Zeman was a little too slow when Kristof Huisingh got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 2-0. 18 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Štrausz came free, but Corné Heida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Piet Pistol kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving René Zeman. That made the score 3-0 in the 21 minute of play. When Michael Teesing came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michael Teesing couldn't finish the play. René Zeman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Piet Pistol in the 28th minute. In the 32nd match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wim Cohen to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Matej Jedlík's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Corné Heida was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. 34 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Matej Jedlík came free, but Corné Heida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Slovakia's René Zeman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Slovakia from getting a goal against them. In the 40th minute of the match, Christiaan Schrage tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but René Zeman saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 41st match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ed Vledder to maneuver through the defense. 43 minutes into the match, Slovakia's goal looked a bit too open when Christiaan Schrage came free, but René Zeman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. René Zeman was a little too slow when Piet Pistol got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 4-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

With a little luck, Netherlands's Corné Heida got control of the ball when Ivan Štrausz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Corné Heida stood somewhat misplaced when Matej Jedlík came free in front of goal and shot 4-1 to the left of him in the 55 minute. René Zeman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Cohen in the 59th minute of play. The supporters of Slovakia booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ed Vledder didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ed Vledder kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Corné Heida made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Ivan Štrausz sent off a good shot on target. Netherlands made a substitution. Niels-Jan Fransen replaced Sander Loch. Slovakia made a substitution. František Totti replaced Ivan Štrausz. René Zeman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damian Martinelli in the 86th minute of play. After 89 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Yorrick Staarman. When Netherlands's Damian Martinelli in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Slovakia's goalie prevented a goal.
