The supporters of Serbia booed when Slovakia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joschka Rebrik didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute, Gvozden Simonović got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Matúš Jurkemik hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Ivan Karvaš took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miroljub Milenković, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sreten Ikić was out of position in the 18 minute of play, and Andrej Mojžiš capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Andrej Mojžiš really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Ale Ba's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Sreten Ikić firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 24th minute, Miroljub Milenković got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Miroljub Milenković had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Miroljub Milenković might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivan Karvaš. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miroljub Milenković ran back to his position shaking his head. Ivan Karvaš made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miroljub Milenković in the 32nd minute of play. Andrej Mojžiš was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 34th minute. Slovakia's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Ivan Karvaš showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miroljub Milenković, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Sreten Ikić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ale Ba in the 72nd minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, Serbia's goal looked a bit too open when Úranus Supiks-Pupiks came free, but Sreten Ikić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serafim Ašković struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Ivan Karvaš didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Serbia. Marián Bienik's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sreten Ikić read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play.
