Valdo de Queirós made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joãozinho Pernambucano in the 29th minute. Valdo de Queirós didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cafu Donato went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Ismael Secco struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Valdo de Queirós didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmares Futebol Clube. If Ismael Secco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joãozinho Pernambucano to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerson da Rocha in the 56th minute of play forced Os 11 garotos's goalkeeper Valdo de Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 57 minutes Os 11 garotos's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ismael Secco who took care of the corner kick. Belmiro Sanches charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Belmiro Sanches the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 69th match minute, Os 11 garotos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evandro Maia to maneuver through the defense. Palmares Futebol Clube made a substitution. Palmares Futebol Clube's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
