Alcorcón's Maurino Serena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zair Hasa in the 13th minute of play. Pål Sefastsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emmanuel Otero in the 15th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zair Hasa in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maurino Serena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 19 minutes into the match, Zair Hasa notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of A.D. Alcorcón's Maurino Serena. Maurino Serena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. National Team Cape-Verde's Zair Hasa managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Nereo Acosta in the 23 minute of the game. In the 27th minute Zair Hasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurino Serena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by A.D. Alcorcón's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fredric Melander was slow to take the kick. During this time National Team Cape-Verde's players had a chance to rest. Maurino Serena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zair Hasa went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Zair Hasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maurino Serena having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteban Vadillos in the 41st minute of play forced National Team Cape-Verde's goalkeeper Pål Sefastsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pål Sefastsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Belo Alvarez in the 44th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Natxo Cacheres during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Natxo Cacheres hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Alex Broberg replaced Fredric Melander. When Zachary Pliszka came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the National Team Cape-Verde fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zachary Pliszka couldn't finish the play. Alcorcón's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Broberg came free, but Maurino Serena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Alex Broberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Maurino Serena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Broberg in the 88th minute of play. Maurino Serena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for National Team Cape-Verde. When the match was over National Team Cape-Verde could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than A.D. Alcorcón throughout the match.
