Cláudio Paes missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 42 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Valdomiro Torres right hand side. If Jan Drake had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Flávio Bastos to make the kick off. Valdomiro Torres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo José Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulo José Almeida in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. The audience was convinced that Paulo José Almeida's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdomiro Torres was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Centro Limoeirense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo José Almeida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Centro Limoeirense's Cláudio Paes got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jan Drake in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdomiro Torres saved Cova from getting behind. In the 97th minute Paulo José Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdomiro Torres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Centro Limoeirense had played much better football throughout.
