The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Quixelo's Adão Candal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jerônimo Zanette made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Augusto Porta made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Dieguinho Cardozo sent off a good shot on target. Augusto Porta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zé Paulo Souto's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Guilherme Penha in the 12th minute of play forced Fito FC's goalkeeper Jerônimo Zanette to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Guilherme Penha in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jerônimo Zanette saved Fito FC from getting behind. Jerônimo Zanette showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adão Candal in the 16th minute of the match. If Luís Guilherme Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Quixelo booed when Fito FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remo Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute, Adão Candal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Quixelo's Luís Guilherme Penha got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zé Paulo Souto hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Fito FC's zone, Luís Guilherme Penha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jerônimo Zanette came out of the goal and Luís Guilherme Penha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adão Candal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Jerônimo Zanette tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Zé Paulo Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Luís Guilherme Penha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jerônimo Zanette was relentless in the 47th minute of the game.

The wind increased when Zé Paulo Souto made the kick off in the second half. Fito FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 52nd minute, when Adão Candal scored to the left of an out of position Jerônimo Zanette, making the score, 1-2. Augusto Porta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vito Mandrak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute, Quixelo's Valdir de Souza ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jerônimo Zanette. Jerônimo Zanette yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Jerônimo Zanette made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Guilherme Penha in the 79th minute. Adão Candal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jerônimo Zanette didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 83rd minute, which inside left pole to 1-4. Luís Guilherme Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerônimo Zanette having to interfere. Quixelo's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
