The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Santos FC! The referee gave Quixelo a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by João Vítor Freitas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Santos FC's Kléber Barral. 0-1. Dedê Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Valdir de Souza notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Santos FC's Kléber Barral. Kléber Barral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 25th match minute, Santos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frederico Custódio to maneuver through the defense. Quixelo's Augusto Porta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Quixelo from getting a goal against them. Tiago Veloso hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 31 minutes into the game, Dedê Barbosa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Augusto Porta. Dedê Barbosa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Dedê Barbosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Augusto Porta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Quixelo's Augusto Porta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dedê Barbosa in the 35th minute of play. Dedê Barbosa let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 37th minute shot 2-2 at rihgt post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dedê Barbosa in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Augusto Porta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kléber Barral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Guilherme Penha in the 46th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Guilherme Penha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Luís Guilherme Penha dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Kléber Barral, 2-3. The Santos FC fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when Santos FC's Baltazar Linhares looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Adão Candal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augusto Porta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dedê Barbosa went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-3 was the resulting score. Quixelo's Augusto Porta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dedê Barbosa in the 81st minute of play. Augusto Porta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltazar Linhares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Augusto Porta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedê Barbosa in the 91st minute of play. In the 95th match minute, Santos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedê Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. For all the effort they put into the match, the Quixelo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Santos FC.
