The supporters of Bonsucesso FC booed when Quixelo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Guilherme Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute, Quixelo's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Osmar Teixeira fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Adão Candal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Quixelo's zone, Osmar Teixeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Porta came out of the goal and Osmar Teixeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bonsucesso FC's Silvério Vinhas shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 14th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Augusto Porta but with some difficulty. Fabinho França fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Porta having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Quixelo's zone, Fabinho França stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Porta came out of the goal and Fabinho França tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Augusto Porta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabinho França, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 30 minutes into the game, one of Quixelo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Filipe Varela shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Osmar Teixeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Porta having to interfere. Augusto Porta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabinho França in the 39th minute of play. Quixelo's Augusto Porta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Quixelo from getting a goal against them. When Quixelo's Luís Guilherme Penha in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bonsucesso FC's goalie prevented a goal.

The wind increased when Fabinho França made the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes Bonsucesso FC got a freekick which was hit by Fred Mello. Tiago Veloso might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Pedro da Silveira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tiago Veloso ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Bonsucesso FC's zone, Adão Candal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Pedro da Silveira came out of the goal and Adão Candal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luís Guilherme Penha might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Pedro da Silveira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Guilherme Penha ran back to his position shaking his head. Tiago Veloso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bonsucesso FC's José Pedro da Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Guilherme Penha in the 69th minute of play. In the 71st match minute, Quixelo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Guilherme Penha to maneuver through the defense. Valdir de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fred Mello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 77 played minutes Bonsucesso FC got a freekick which was hit by Zé Paulo Tinoco. 78 minutes into the match, Bonsucesso FC's goalkeeper José Pedro da Silveira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Vítor Freitas. Adão Candal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Pedro da Silveira having to make a save. 81 minutes into the game, Quixelo's Luís Guilherme Penha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. José Pedro da Silveira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Quixelo played a much better game than Bonsucesso FC and deserved their victory. The Bonsucesso FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
