The supporters of Holiod FC booed when MAXiminos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 19 minutes, Marco Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Holiod FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Mattos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the MAXiminos defense, João Paulo Baiano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mateus Tavares. The MAXiminos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mateus Tavares should have stopped the shot. Samuca Tasso's late challenge caught a MAXiminos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Samuca Tasso helped the player get up and apologised. In the 23rd match minute, Holiod FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuca Tasso to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Holiod FC's zone, Laerte Paes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusébio de Godoi came out of the goal and Laerte Paes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. João Paulo Baiano scored 0-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mateus Tavares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 45th minute, Marco Mattos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Holiod FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. After the first half Holiod FC were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

MAXiminos's Mateus Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Paulo Baiano in the 54th minute of play. Reynaldo de Queiroz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mateus Tavares. MAXiminos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Marco Mattos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mateus Tavares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marco Mattos in the 61st minute. João Paulo Baiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. A long shot from Christian Cardoso in the 80th minute of play was well struck, but Mateus Tavares made a really good save at the right post. MAXiminos's Mateus Tavares couldn't get a good grip on the ball when Christian Cardoso shot the distance nicking the right pole and went into goal in the 80th minute, 0-5. MAXiminos's Mateus Tavares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save MAXiminos from getting a goal against them. In the last second Mateus Tavares throw himself and got hold of the ball when João Paulo Baiano in the 87thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Marco Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mateus Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Paulo Baiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute.
