But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enrique Sampaio couldn't finish the play. José Paraibano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Sampaio in the 23rd minute of play. Rodolfo Souza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lukasz Furgal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Gilmar Catarinense charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of Chelsea booed when Quirinopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quirinopolis were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after Chelsea's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Matheus Neiva took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Chelsea's goalie and right to Ulisses Silveira. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Chelsea's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After a defensive mix-up in Quirinopolis's zone, Enrique Sampaio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Paraibano came out of the goal and Enrique Sampaio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 95th minute, Paulo Antunes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Chelsea supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Quirinopolis's performance. The match ended with a win for Quirinopolis.
