Eusébio de Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giuseppe Madureira in the 11th minute of play. Perivaldo Vieira kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Carlos Eduardo Recife scored 0-2 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eusébio de Godoi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 16th match minute, Holiod FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Paulo Baiano to maneuver through the defense. Samuca Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Marco Mattos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Paulo Baiano in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudinei Quirino saved Rianopolis from getting behind. The supporters of Holiod FC booed when Rianopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Léo Fernandes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute, Samuca Tasso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fábio Nascimento hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. 41 minutes into the match, Rianopolis's Richard Trevisan broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Rianopolis's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Richard Trevisan in the 52nd minute. Samuca Tasso hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Rianopolis's Richard Trevisan couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Holiod FC. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, João Paulo Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Holiod FC's supporters rose to their feet, but João Paulo Baiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudinei Quirino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Holiod FC's João Paulo Baiano got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 65 minutes, Nico Queiroz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rianopolis and the Holiod FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 65th match minute, Rianopolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nico Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. The tension between the Holiod FC and the Rianopolis players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Holiod FC's Samuca Tasso got a free kick in the 69th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Paulo Baiano in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudinei Quirino saved Rianopolis from getting behind. Eusébio de Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giuseppe Madureira in the 79th minute of the match. Claudinei Quirino came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Holiod FC's João Paulo Baiano. But to his dismay, João Paulo Baiano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Cícero Pires hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Giuseppe Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 93 minutes into the match, João Paulo Baiano notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Rianopolis's Claudinei Quirino. Claudinei Quirino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
