Rodolfo Souza started the match with the kick off. Clóvis Martins in the 10thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of José Paraibano, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. José Paraibano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfredo Porto in the 15th minute of play. Jairo Falcão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matheus Neiva hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Abel Correia shot from long distance in the 20th minute, but José Paraibano was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. 21 minutes into the game, André Luís Aparecido was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Quirinopolis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Helmet HC the free kick. André Luís Aparecido hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After 26 played minutes Helmet HC got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin Carneiro. Frederico Bezerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clóvis Martins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but José Paraibano made a huge save. José Paraibano made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Clóvis Martins sent off a good shot on target. When Frederico Bezerra came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Quirinopolis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frederico Bezerra couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manfredo Porto to make the kick off. José Paraibano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manfredo Porto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Quirinopolis's Frederico Bezerra got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Quirinopolis's Rodolfo Souza in the 67th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Jairo Falcão was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Helmet HC through an amazing save. After having played for 77 minutes, Manfredo Porto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Helmet HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manfredo Porto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 81 minutes, Paulo Antunes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quirinopolis and the Helmet HC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st minute, Paulo Antunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abel Correia, 82 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Clóvis Martins came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Helmet HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clóvis Martins couldn't finish the play. José Paraibano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael Mazza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Helmet HC's Jairo Falcão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Souza in the 89th minute of play. Rodolfo Souza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jairo Falcão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. Manfredo Porto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Quirinopolis had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
