With a little luck, Morellato FC's Percy Hermes got control of the ball when Dênis Penha tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14th minute, Zeca Esteves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bernardo Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Pedro Furtado in the 17th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Carazinho FC's Diguinho Passos got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 22nd minute, Carazinho FC's Anselmo Tasso dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Sidnei Ferraz's late challenge caught a Morellato FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sidnei Ferraz helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Morellato FC booed when Carazinho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidnei Ferraz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Percy Hermes made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Dênis Penha sent off a good shot on target. Dênis Penha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernardo Quirino came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Morellato FC's Zé Pedro Furtado. But to his dismay, Zé Pedro Furtado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 38 minutes into the game, Carazinho FC's Dênis Penha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Percy Hermes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Morellato FC's goalkeeper Percy Hermes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carazinho FC's Anselmo Tasso got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Zé Pedro Furtado took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Bernardo Quirino to make any attempt to save it. Zé Pedro Furtado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Bernardo Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 61 minutes, Tony Santos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carazinho FC and the Morellato FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tony Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. A hard shot 66 in the game by Breno Antunes from a close distance when the talented Bernardo Quirino managed to make a qualified save. Carazinho FC's players were relieved. In the 71st minute, Diguinho Passos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute, Anselmo Tasso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Carazinho FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dênis Penha in the 90th minute of play forced Morellato FC's goalkeeper Percy Hermes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute, Dênis Penha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
