Areinhas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Italia the free kick. After 35 played minutes Areinhas got a freekick which was hit by Tião de Medeiros. In the 45th minute of the match, Sebastião Moreno tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Osvaldinho Fontes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Didi Lucas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Sebastião Moreno made a precise shot to the right of Osvaldinho Fontes. Areinhas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natanael Mattos in the 56th minute of play forced Areinhas's goalkeeper Osvaldinho Fontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Willian Breckenfeld got his second yellow card in the match during the 89th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Areinhas getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Willian Breckenfeld hit a great ball. 91 minutes into the match, Italia's Sebastião Moreno sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Osvaldinho Fontes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Didi Lucas came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Areinhas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Didi Lucas couldn't finish the play. Italia walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
