The supporters of C.A.Universidad dos Raios booed when Vodka Diamond was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, C.A.Universidad dos Raios's Juninho Cardoso got a free kick in the 12th minute. Luizão Novaes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falcão Pereira having to interfere. 23 minutes into the game, Leandro Bittencourt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.A.Universidad dos Raios's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vodka Diamond the free kick. After 23 played minutes C.A.Universidad dos Raios got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Bittencourt. Vodka Diamond's Claudinho Breckenfeld got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Falcão Pereira was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Ruy Peixoto struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Falcão Pereira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vodka Diamond. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ruy Peixoto in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Falcão Pereira saved C.A.Universidad dos Raios from getting behind. In the 72nd minute, Duarte Teixeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Igor de Amorim charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Igor de Amorim the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to C.A.Universidad dos Raios getting a freekick after 75 minutes play.
