When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oscar Cardozo made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Kléber Rezende was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Italia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independência Futebol the free kick. The supporters of Independência Futebol booed when Italia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléber Rezende didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 55 minutes, Natanael Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Italia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Natanael Mattos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Clóvis Motta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Natanael Mattos in the 57th minute. The Independência Futebol supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Italia's performance. The match ended with a win for Italia.
