Testando's Wellington Gerber proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Testando from getting a goal against them. If Acácio Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Duarte Neto came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Testando's Dida Rosado. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Testando reached it. Duarte Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliézer Pinho in the 31st minute of the match. Dinei Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Wellington Gerber made a huge save. When Dinei Seco came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the mindinho SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dinei Seco couldn't finish the play. Rômulo Salles's late challenge caught a mindinho SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
