Jairo Tepedino started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Catesporo AD's zone, Edmílson Veloso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. César Meirelles came out of the goal and Edmílson Veloso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. César Meirelles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Enio Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. When Caetano Sergipano fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Catesporo AD's protests and gave Caetano Sergipano a yellow card for diving instead. Caetano Sergipano hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Enio Azevedo sped through Catesporo AD's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of César Meirelles. 31 minutes into the match, Enio Azevedo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of César Meirelles. Catesporo AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enio Azevedo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Tepedino in the 34th minute of play forced Sosoco FC's goalkeeper Giuseppe Barreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Enio Azevedo put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of César Meirelles. If Enio Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Sosoco FC's Edmílson Veloso in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Catesporo AD's goalie prevented a goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 7-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Enio Azevedo to make the kick off. Giuseppe Barreto made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Cássio Paraibano sent off a good shot on target. After 68 minutes, Gonçalo Luz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Catesporo AD and the Sosoco FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gonçalo Luz hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmílson Veloso in the 70th minute of play forced Catesporo AD's goalkeeper César Meirelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Sosoco FC's Enio Azevedo in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. César Meirelles was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-1. 78 minutes into the game, Sosoco FC's Enio Azevedo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. César Meirelles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 10-1. Jairo Tepedino was extremely unlucky when he, in the 81st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Enio Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. César Meirelles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute Edmílson Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but César Meirelles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sosoco FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
