André Leal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 15th minute, one of CAMPINAS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for CAMPINAS. Ruy Moreira shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Ademar Queiroz hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Válbson de Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute, Athletico Manaus's Válbson de Sena ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jaime Baiano. Jaime Baiano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. 2-1 became the score in the 28th minute when Válbson de Sena elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Jaime Baiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Válbson de Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Válbson de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. CAMPINAS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 39th minute, when Lauro Marques scored to the left of an out of position Jaime Baiano, making the score, 3-1. After a rather tough play, CAMPINAS's Zé Berger got a free kick in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Válbson de Sena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Benedito Moreira kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Válbson de Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Berger kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dudu Ferraz in the 61st minute of play forced CAMPINAS's goalkeeper Jaime Baiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ademar Queiroz's late challenge caught a Athletico Manaus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ademar Queiroz helped the player get up and apologised. Ademar Queiroz hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. The supporters of Athletico Manaus booed when CAMPINAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Coutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Allan Dante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Jaime Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 69 played minutes CAMPINAS got a freekick which was hit by José Coutinho. CAMPINAS's Jaime Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Válbson de Sena in the 70th minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, CAMPINAS's goal looked a bit too open when Válbson de Sena came free, but Jaime Baiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute Dudu Ferraz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Baiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, CAMPINAS's Zé Berger got a free kick in the 79th minute. Lauro Marques charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lauro Marques the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Athletico Manaus getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Lauro Marques hit a great ball. In the 85th minute, Zé Berger fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. A collision led to CAMPINAS getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Henrique Correia hit a great ball. Dudu Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Jaime Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, CAMPINAS's goal looked a bit too open when Válbson de Sena came free, but Jaime Baiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute, Dida Proença left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CAMPINAS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. When the referee ended the match the Athletico Manaus players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
