A collision led to Atlético de Blumenau getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Edu Tavares hit a great ball. If Amedeo Mameli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Godfredo Teodor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amedeo Mameli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute Amedeo Mameli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godfredo Teodor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amedeo Mameli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Amedeo Mameli ran back to his position shaking his head. Godfredo Teodor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amedeo Mameli in the 25th minute of play. The Atlético de Blumenau fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when Atlético de Blumenau's Amedeo Mameli looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Amedeo Mameli blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Godfredo Teodor having to make a save. Godfredo Teodor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Nogueira in the 37th minute of play. Artur Nogueira scored 0-3 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Godfredo Teodor, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Amedeo Mameli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Godfredo Teodor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

After having played for 52 minutes, Gualter do Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Discovery's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gualter do Valle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Discovery's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Haroldo Nazario ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Atlético de Blumenau's Haroldo Nazario to fire away a dangerous shot which Godfredo Teodor despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Atlético de Blumenau's Amedeo Mameli got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the game, one of Discovery:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Godfredo Teodor, was totally fooled by Atlético de Blumenau's Amedeo Mameli, who 66 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Amedeo Mameli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Godfredo Teodor made a huge save.
