Raí Catarinense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nelsinho Alvarenga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Nelsinho Alvarenga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rustam Arsenievich in the 19th minute of play. After having played for 22 minutes, Rustam Arsenievich managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FLU ES fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rustam Arsenievich was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Guaberto Elodio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A throw-in in the 26th minute of the game was made by André Luiz Alagoano with Guaberto Elodio as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Taurus Assoc. de Futebol's Nelsinho Alvarenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rustam Arsenievich in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Gustavo Marinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 37 minutes of play, FLU ES fc's Rustam Arsenievich made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nelsinho Alvarenga was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Gustavo Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taurus Assoc. de Futebol's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustavo Marinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Luiz Sergipano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gustavo Marinho struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Pedro Luiz Sergipano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taurus Assoc. de Futebol. In the 42nd match minute, Taurus Assoc. de Futebol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guaberto Elodio to maneuver through the defense. Rustam Arsenievich fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelsinho Alvarenga having to interfere. After the first half FLU ES fc were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 51st minute, Raí Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 54th minute of the match Taurus Assoc. de Futebol got a corner. FLU ES fc's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Basílio Ribeiro ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Elivélton Saldanha managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The FLU ES fc fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when FLU ES fc's Rustam Arsenievich looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Taurus Assoc. de Futebol's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Rustam Arsenievich scored to the left of an out of position Nelsinho Alvarenga, making the score, 0-4. Taurus Assoc. de Futebol made a substitution. Väino Kaasik replaced Elivélton Saldanha. Raí Catarinense kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Guaberto Elodio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Luiz Sergipano having to interfere. In the 96th minute, André Luiz Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FLU ES fc were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Taurus Assoc. de Futebol's much stronger midfield.
