The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 17 minutes into the match, Niculae Martinescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Eduardo Secco. Negrão Fogo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Niculae Martinescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Hamílton Lopes might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rômulo Vander. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hamílton Lopes ran back to his position shaking his head. Carlos Eduardo Secco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niculae Martinescu in the 25th minute of the match. Ripway were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after Negrão Fogo FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luís Eduardo Souto took the corner. The corner ended in Hariharan Jagur almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Negrão Fogo FC's Carlos Eduardo Secco did a great save. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Hariharan Jagur put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Carlos Eduardo Secco. Hariharan Jagur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Eduardo Secco having to interfere. Carlos Eduardo Secco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niculae Martinescu in the 46th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aílton Leme made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niculae Martinescu in the 52nd minute of play forced Negrão Fogo FC's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Secco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Negrão Fogo FC's Carlos Eduardo Secco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Negrão Fogo FC from getting a goal against them. Aílton Leme struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Carlos Eduardo Secco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ripway. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hariharan Jagur during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rômulo Vander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hamílton Lopes in the 74th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Aílton Leme made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Eduardo Secco. Negrão Fogo FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. 82 minutes into the match, Ripway's goal looked a bit too open when Hamílton Lopes came free, but Rômulo Vander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Niculae Martinescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 94th minute Niculae Martinescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Eduardo Secco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ripway played a much better game than Negrão Fogo FC and deserved their victory. The Negrão Fogo FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
