Ace Spade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Deilmison Oblak made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Hamílton Valladares kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Deilmison Oblak. That made the score 3-0 in the 25 minute of play. Laurie Cunninghan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Deilmison Oblak read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Ivo Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Miguel Prado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mário de Azevedo during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
