With a little luck, Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin got control of the ball when Artemio Argoitz tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 62nd minute of the match, Artemio Argoitz got a very nice opportunity to score, but Elpidio Vitin was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Nicolas Roland came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Vélez Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolas Roland couldn't finish the play. Vélez Juniors made a substitution. Cristian Naike replaced Nicolas Roland. A collision led to Vélez Juniors getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Melchor Napier hit a great ball. In the 79th minute Rey Ronaldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elpidio Vitin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rey Ronaldo went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. When the match was over Luganeros AFC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vélez Juniors throughout the match.
