Frankie Cardwell was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Eddie Wittingham showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 18 minute of play. Frankie Cardwell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddie Wittingham, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. A collision led to Ballymoney Athletic getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Barry Booker hit a great ball. 24 minutes into the game, Eddie Wittingham recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Frankie Cardwell. Eddie Wittingham showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. Eddie Wittingham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Frankie Cardwell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ballymoney Athletic's Frankie Cardwell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Ballymoney Athletic from getting a goal against them. Juvenal Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bronagh Rice in the 35th minute of the match. Frankie Cardwell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddie Wittingham, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Bronagh Rice charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. With a little luck, Ballymoney Athletic's Frankie Cardwell got control of the ball when Gara Wah tried to sneak it across the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tommy Boyce was the one to do the kick off. When Rich Pennant fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballymoney Athletic's protests and gave Rich Pennant a yellow card for diving instead. In the 51st minute, Rich Pennant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Tommy Boyce came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Lisburn Distillery F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tommy Boyce couldn't finish the play. Frankie Cardwell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddie Wittingham, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 55th minute, Tommy Boyce left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lisburn Distillery F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. After a defensive mix-up in Ballymoney Athletic's zone, Eddie Wittingham stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frankie Cardwell came out of the goal and Eddie Wittingham tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eddie Wittingham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frankie Cardwell having to interfere. Derek Findley took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Frankie Cardwell. Frankie Cardwell dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. In the 70th minute, one of Ballymoney Athletic:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ballymoney Athletic. 75 minutes into the game, Eddie Wittingham cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 10-0. Frankie Cardwell was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 81st match minute, Ballymoney Athletic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bronagh Rice to maneuver through the defense. Frankie Cardwell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Derek Findley went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 11-0 was the resulting score. Eddie Wittingham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ballymoney Athletic's Frankie Cardwell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neil Deacon in the 87th minute of play. 88 minutes into the game, Derek Findley cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 12-0. Frankie Cardwell was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Frankie Cardwell stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tommy Boyce's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. In the 96th minute Virgil Van suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Sid Legg charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sid Legg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sid Legg kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match.
