Owen Hopker was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Owen Hopker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Spione in the 9th minute of the match. Adrian Garner kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Intrusive Thoughts's Ozzy Rouse got a free kick in the 11th minute. Anselmo Spione fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Owen Hopker having to interfere. Kris Jewson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Intrusive Thoughts's Owen Hopker proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Intrusive Thoughts from getting a goal against them. When Kris Jewson fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Garstang AFC's protests and gave Kris Jewson a yellow card for diving instead. Nigel Hill showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrew Wild in the 25th minute of the match. After 26 played minutes Garstang AFC got a freekick which was hit by Golo Kante. 29 minutes into the game, Adrian Garner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Intrusive Thoughts's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Garstang AFC the free kick. In the 29th match minute, Intrusive Thoughts was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Garner to maneuver through the defense. After 31 played minutes Intrusive Thoughts got a freekick which was hit by Stu Sherman. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kris Jewson got free with Owen Hopker in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nigel Hill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenneth E. Sullivan, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Nigel Hill came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Intrusive Thoughts's Jim Bannister. But to his dismay, Jim Bannister quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ali Vedat Kabataş made a kick off. Garstang AFC's Nigel Hill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kenneth E. Sullivan in the 56th minute of play. Garstang AFC's Nigel Hill proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Garstang AFC from getting a goal against them. Owen Hopker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Spione in the 59th minute of the match. Anselmo Spione received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Owen Hopker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Stu Sherman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute, Jim Bannister made a precise shot to the right of Nigel Hill. Garstang AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Ali Vedat Kabataş might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Owen Hopker. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ali Vedat Kabataş ran back to his position shaking his head. After 75 played minutes Garstang AFC got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Lundy. After a defensive mix-up in Intrusive Thoughts's zone, Anselmo Spione stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Owen Hopker came out of the goal and Anselmo Spione tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Owen Hopker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tim Beck, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Lundy in the 83rd minute of play forced Intrusive Thoughts's goalkeeper Owen Hopker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 84 played minutes Garstang AFC got a freekick which was hit by Hermengildo Vilalta. Intrusive Thoughts's Willie Adams shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 85th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Nigel Hill but with some difficulty. The supporters of Intrusive Thoughts booed when Garstang AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Golo Kante didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute Jim Bannister shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nigel Hill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Owen Hopker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ali Vedat Kabataş, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Intrusive Thoughts getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Adrian Garner hit a great ball. The Intrusive Thoughts supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Intrusive Thoughts would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
