Garstang AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kris Jewson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 19 played minutes Ballymoney Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Sid Legg. If Kris Jewson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nigel Hill made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rich Pennant in the 26th minute. Connor Ashton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Nigel Hill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frankie Cardwell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris Jewson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anselmo Spione struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Frankie Cardwell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Garstang AFC. Ali Vedat Kabataş sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Connor Ashton took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nigel Hill. Nigel Hill dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 45 minutes into the match, Garstang AFC's goalkeeper Nigel Hill had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rich Pennant. After a rather tough play, Garstang AFC's Golo Kante got a free kick in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kris Jewson was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kris Jewson got free with Frankie Cardwell in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Anselmo Spione's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frankie Cardwell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. If Kris Jewson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute Sid Legg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nigel Hill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Ballymoney Athletic's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Spione came free, but Frankie Cardwell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute Bronagh Rice shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nigel Hill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Connor Ashton in the 68th minute of play forced Garstang AFC's goalkeeper Nigel Hill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Garstang AFC's Nigel Hill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rich Pennant in the 69th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Garstang AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Bronagh Rice came free, but Nigel Hill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kris Jewson scored 1-2 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Frankie Cardwell, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 78th minute, Alfredo Lundy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nigel Hill showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Connor Ashton in the 93rd minute of the match. Garstang AFC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
