The supporters of Intrusive Thoughts booed when Flamengo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Forrest Frizzell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Owen Hopker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rory Trimble in the 37th minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, Flamengo's Zabal Aizpurua nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Keith Ripley was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 45th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After the first half Flamengo were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Hans Smefeldt made the kick off in the second half. Andrew Gillespie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Owen Hopker made a huge save. 56 minutes into the match, Rory Trimble had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Owen Hopker. Intrusive Thoughts's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rory Trimble was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Rain Kuusk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Owen Hopker having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Hans Smefeldt took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Owen Hopker to make any attempt to save it. Rory Trimble could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Owen Hopker made a huge save. In the 66th minute, Hans Smefeldt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Flamengo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Intrusive Thoughts's goalkeeper Owen Hopker, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 72 minutes into the game, Andrew Gillespie cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Owen Hopker was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Andrew Gillespie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flamengo's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrew Gillespie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Owen Hopker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 77th match minute, Intrusive Thoughts was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steve Ryder to maneuver through the defense. Owen Hopker made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Andrew Gillespie sent off a good shot on target. Owen Hopker didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andrew Gillespie went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. In the 86th minute, Rory Trimble made a precise shot to the right of Owen Hopker. Intrusive Thoughts's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-8. In the 91st minute Hans Smefeldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Owen Hopker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 柯誉海 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steve Ryder in the 94th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Rory Trimble ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Owen Hopker was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9.
