Spectators: 7516 (Terracing: 5638, Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 150) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jake Strong made the kick off which started today's match. Seth Lawless fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norman Wakefield having to interfere. Norman Wakefield made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Seth Lawless sent off a good shot on target. Kirk Burkinshaw made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Marenghi in the 13th minute of play. If Seth Lawless had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, Jonathan Marenghi notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Turtle Bay's Kirk Burkinshaw. Kirk Burkinshaw was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 22nd minute, Jonathan Marenghi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kirk Burkinshaw was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 30th minute, Jonathan Marenghi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jermaine Branch might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kirk Burkinshaw. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jermaine Branch ran back to his position shaking his head. Jonathan Marenghi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Kirk Burkinshaw tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Marenghi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Marenghi in the 43rd minute of play forced Turtle Bay's goalkeeper Kirk Burkinshaw to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jermaine Branch stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Jermaine Branch dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Kirk Burkinshaw, 0-4. Jermaine Branch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jermaine Branch in the 58th minute of play forced Turtle Bay's goalkeeper Kirk Burkinshaw to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nath Tyler charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nath Tyler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nath Tyler hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the match, derik fc's Sacha French broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 62nd minute, Darius Moyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Turtle Bay's zone, Jonathan Marenghi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kirk Burkinshaw came out of the goal and Jonathan Marenghi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Marenghi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Kirk Burkinshaw tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Graeme Sanderson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kirk Burkinshaw showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jermaine Branch in the 71st minute of the match. Kirk Medlin's late challenge caught a derik fc's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kirk Medlin helped the player get up and apologised. In the 72nd match minute, Turtle Bay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kirk Medlin to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of derik fc booed when Turtle Bay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nath Tyler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Marenghi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. During the 78th minute of the match Nath Tyler completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Nath Tyler a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Turtle Bay getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Nath Tyler hit a great ball. If Jermaine Branch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jonathan Marenghi came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the derik fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonathan Marenghi couldn't finish the play. Kirk Burkinshaw showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jermaine Branch, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Turtle Bay's Kirk Medlin got his second yellow card of the match in the 91st minute. The referee ordered Kirk Medlin off the ground. The supporters of derik fc booed when Turtle Bay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kirk Medlin didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jermaine Branch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. derik fc's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
