William Symons fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Bezerra having to interfere. With a little luck, Bohemians Praa's Leonardo Bezerra got control of the ball when Des Gill tried to sneak it across the goal line. Des Gill might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonardo Bezerra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Des Gill ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 25th minute Mayo were awarded a corner. Evelio Goren went to the cornerflag to take it. Des Gill hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Leonardo Bezerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Des Gill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 35 minutes into the game, Des Gill cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Leonardo Bezerra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 46 minutes into the match, Bohemians Praa's goal looked a bit too open when Des Gill came free, but Leonardo Bezerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Quentin Pope to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Quentin Pope managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bohemians Praa's supporters rose to their feet, but Quentin Pope was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexander Bird breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alexander Bird made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jude Parry in the 53rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Endre Sámuel in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexander Bird prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alexander Bird stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Endre Sámuel's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. In the 62nd minute, Des Gill ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonardo Bezerra was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. After 65 played minutes Bohemians Praa got a freekick which was hit by Duncan Corcoran. Alexander Bird took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Endre Sámuel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Endre Sámuel in the 68thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alexander Bird, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 74 minutes of play, Mayo's Des Gill made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leonardo Bezerra was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mayo's Guido Pagomari was substituted for Des Gill. With 83 minutes on the clock, Ben Gurney commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mayo! Alexander Bird had in the 85thth minute some difficulties stopping Quentin Pope's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guido Pagomari in the 88th minute of play forced Bohemians Praa's goalkeeper Leonardo Bezerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 89 played minutes Bohemians Praa got a freekick which was hit by Adam Harper. 90 minutes into the match, Bohemians Praa's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Pagomari came free, but Leonardo Bezerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 95 minutes into the game, Mayo's Guido Pagomari nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leonardo Bezerra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Mayo had won after a very even match.
