An unexpectedly hard shot by Ettore Petroni in the 5th minute of play forced Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Georg Hagberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. George Wiklund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gert van den Bergh in the 7th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Manolo Bartumeu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. George Wiklund was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 15 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Georg Hagberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jelte Bleiswijk. Ágætis Byrjun's Georg Hagberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Ágætis Byrjun from getting a goal against them. In the 22nd match minute, Lemel SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yuri Roelofsen to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute Nick Heesen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Wiklund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudio Caniggia got free with Georg Hagberg in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Georg Hagberg made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Claudio Caniggia sent off a good shot on target. 40 minutes into the game, Nick Heesen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. George Wiklund was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Manolo Bartumeu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but George Wiklund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. The Ágætis Byrjun fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when Ágætis Byrjun's Manolo Bartumeu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ettore Petroni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georg Hagberg having to interfere. A collision led to Ágætis Byrjun getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Gert van den Bergh hit a great ball. Georg Hagberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ettore Petroni in the 66th minute of play. In the 66th minute Ettore Petroni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georg Hagberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Georg Hagberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jelte Bleiswijk in the 68th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Lemel SV's zone, Manolo Bartumeu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. George Wiklund came out of the goal and Manolo Bartumeu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lemel SV's Dennis Bergkamp was substituted for Jelte Bleiswijk. Ágætis Byrjun's Ditlev Delmont was substituted for Manolo Bartumeu. George Wiklund made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Nick Heesen sent off a good shot on target. Joep Ponks short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got George Wiklund to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Per-Olof Lind kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. George Wiklund didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joep Ponk went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. George Wiklund came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen. But to his dismay, Nick Heesen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Ditlev Delmont took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for George Wiklund to make any attempt to save it.
