A sloppy throw-in by Aleksander Zapolski in the 90th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Sliema Dragons FC's Timmy Vallengren. 94 minutes in the game, Dejan Cassar dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Leszek Cupial recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Sliema Dragons FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Meerkats FC to win.
