Darren Carabott helped the player get up and apologised. Darren Carabott hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kyle Thake in the 32nd minute of play forced Eleven Young Elephants's goalkeeper Aaron Tanti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Giorgio Caruana sped through Eleven Young Elephants's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Aaron Tanti. 39 minutes into the match, Eleven Young Elephants's goal looked a bit too open when Giorgio Caruana came free, but Aaron Tanti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 45 minutes Floriana Celtics's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Darren Carabott who took care of the corner kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kyle Thake to make the kick off. If Giorgio Caruana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 55th minute of the match, Kyle Thake tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Aaron Tanti saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Floriana Celtics's Keith Cassar was substituted for Tony De Marco. Floriana Celtics's Alex Testaferrata Viani was substituted for Giorgio Caruana. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Koray Baycan in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mats Sangolt saved Floriana Celtics from getting behind. With an all-out effort, Floriana Celtics's Aaron Tanti threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kyle Thake, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Koray Baycan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute Koray Baycan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mats Sangolt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eleven Young Elephants's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alex Testaferrata Viani was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Mats Sangolt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darren Carabott in the 83rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Koray Baycan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mats Sangolt was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Alex Testaferrata Vianis short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Aaron Tanti to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Eleven Young Elephants's Aaron Tanti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kyle Thake in the 87th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Kyle Thake got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aaron Tanti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kyle Thake in the 92nd minute of the match. Aaron Tanti made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Kyle Thake sent off a good shot on target. The Eleven Young Elephants supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Floriana Celtics's performance. The match ended with a win for Floriana Celtics.
