After taking down the ball on Aston Birra's corner Răzvan Ghionaru fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Andrea Perez quite easily take care of the ball. But to his dismay, Aristeo Campomanes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Melandru de Cenero's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. After a defensive mix-up in Melandru de Cenero's zone, Lain Clemente stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrea Perez came out of the goal and Lain Clemente tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41st minute, Lain Clemente hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Aston Birra's zone, Xurdin Pena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Gibert came out of the goal and Xurdin Pena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luisito Portillo lost his temper 45 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The goalkeeper, Manuel Gibert, was totally fooled by Melandru de Cenero's Tato Tormes, who 48 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After the first half Aston Birra were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ubaldo Goyanes to make the kick off. Etxatxu De Pablo hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. 62 minutes into the match, Aston Birra's Lain Clemente sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andrea Perez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Manuel Gibert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joachim Incera in the 66th minute of the match. Manuel Gibert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 97th minute Ubaldo Goyanes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrea Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Aston Birra supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Aston Birra would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
