Rein Bautmans was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 13 minutes of play, FC Ouagadougou National's Abdulla Baia made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rein Bautmans was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rein Bautmans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from George Descamps in the 16th minute of the match. Rein Bautmans didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abdulla Baia went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Rein Bautmans was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Dani Rojas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dani Rojas really showed his touch with that goal: 6-0. 25 minutes in the game, Abdulla Baia fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Rein Bautmans having to interfere. After 25th play minutes Abdulla Baia shot 7-0, a short shot which went by Rein Bautmans and just under the crossbar into goal. After a defensive mix-up in La Selección's zone, Dani Rojas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rein Bautmans came out of the goal and Dani Rojas tried to chip the ball over his head. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 11-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fred Smidts to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Abdulla Baia put it in 12-0 from a short distance just to the right of Rein Bautmans. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind La Selección's goalkeeper Rein Bautmans, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rein Bautmans prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
