The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute Silviu Gâdea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Bunescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. George Bunescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dráusio Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 8th match minute, MCM.LAZIO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Iorgulescu to maneuver through the defense. George Bunescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silviu Gâdea in the 11th minute of the match. In the 14thth minute of the game Vlad Țepeneag who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jiul Petrosani 1919's Constantin Basarab was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Constantin Basarab managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when MCM.LAZIO's Vlad Țepeneag fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ionuț Panțâru might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over George Bunescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ionuț Panțâru ran back to his position shaking his head. George Bunescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silviu Gâdea in the 18th minute of the match. Constantin Basarab made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Vlad Țepeneag sent off a good shot on target. 29 minutes into the game, Silviu Gâdea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jiul Petrosani 1919's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MCM.LAZIO the free kick. After 29 played minutes Jiul Petrosani 1919 got a freekick which was hit by Silviu Gâdea. In the 30th minute of the match Dumitru Dejeu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Constantin Basarab skillfully saved the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tony Manerov during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Jiul Petrosani 1919 getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Tony Manerov hit a great ball. A hard shot 33 in the game by Vlad Țepeneag from a close distance when the talented Constantin Basarab managed to make a qualified save. Jiul Petrosani 1919's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, MCM.LAZIO's Codruț Pitiș got a free kick in the 36th minute. A collision led to Jiul Petrosani 1919 getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Silviu Carp hit a great ball. George Bunescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Silviu Gâdea went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After the first half Jiul Petrosani 1919 were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

MCM.LAZIO's Aurelian Mandache got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dráusio Pereira's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, George Bunescu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silviu Gâdea got free with George Bunescu in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 55 played minutes Jiul Petrosani 1919 got a freekick which was hit by Silviu Gâdea. Constantin Basarab took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vlad Țepeneag, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute, Dráusio Pereira reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of George Bunescu. The goal made the score 0-2. George Bunescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ionuț Panțâru in the 65th minute. Ionel Dinu kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Leonard Şerbănoiu kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Vlad Țepeneag ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Constantin Basarab was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. A long shot from Silviu Carp in the 79th minute of play was well struck, but George Bunescu made a really good save at the right post. MCM.LAZIO's defense didn't have a chance, in the 80th minute, when Dráusio Pereira scored to the left of an out of position George Bunescu, making the score, 1-3. Constantin Basarab came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by MCM.LAZIO's Vlad Țepeneag. But to his dismay, Vlad Țepeneag quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. A collision led to MCM.LAZIO getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Costel Chițan hit a great ball. 92 minutes into the match, Jiul Petrosani 1919's goal looked a bit too open when Vlad Țepeneag came free, but Constantin Basarab reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jiul Petrosani 1919's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
