When the match had gone on for 2 minutes, Nils Dortāns took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Valdis Felbergs to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to FC Riga getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Vismants Kukurudzjaks hit a great ball. Saivis Kikals showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viestards Pele in the 8th minute of the match. Saivis Kikals took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jakub Swierczok, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Black horses's Jakub Swierczok was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Saivis Kikals in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Black horses fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Black horses's Jakub Swierczok looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Saivis Kikals showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Atso Joenväärä in the 15th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Atso Joenväärä had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Saivis Kikals. FC Riga's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Atso Joenväärä was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 18th minute, Nils Dortāns hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Saivis Kikals made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viestards Pele in the 20th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, FC Riga's goal looked a bit too open when Viestards Pele came free, but Saivis Kikals reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Riga's Saivis Kikals played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viestards Pele in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute of the match Black horses got a corner. FC Riga's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kristiāns Princāns ran over to the corner to take the kick. Valdis Felbergs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nils Dortāns in the 23rd minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Viestards Pele made the kick off in the second half. Saivis Kikals came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Black horses's Viestards Pele. But to his dismay, Viestards Pele quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. With an all-out effort, Black horses's Saivis Kikals threw himself towards the right post 59 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jakub Swierczok, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 62nd minute Marin Ailenei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdis Felbergs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64th match minute, FC Riga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Voldemārs Cariņš to maneuver through the defense. Black horses's Bērtulis Ludbergs was substituted for Mpenza Setlaba. In the 66th minute, Voldemārs Cariņš hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jakub Swierczok in the 67th minute of play forced FC Riga's goalkeeper Saivis Kikals to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Black horses's Saivis Kikals threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Larry Houben, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Sarmis Logs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Saivis Kikals made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sarmis Logs in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Saivis Kikals prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Black horses's Jakub Swierczok managed to work through FC Riga's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Jakub Swierczok dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Nils Dortāns received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Valdis Felbergs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Atso Joenväärä got free with Saivis Kikals in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sarmis Logs got free with Saivis Kikals in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 94th minute, Balvis Kiberkalns hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Black horses played a much better game than FC Riga and deserved their victory. The FC Riga players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
