Despite this Yahia van der Saar quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 7th minute of the match Pagos FC got a corner. Sheriff's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mircea Teodor ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Francisco Montae got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-0. 7 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute Damaso Xacintu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Campens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Sheriff's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Montae came free, but Yahia van der Saar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Pagos FC's Francisco Montae in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paşa Ali Rahmi in the 21st minute of play forced Sheriff's goalkeeper Yahia van der Saar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Clayton Gol ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manuel Campens was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. With a little luck, Sheriff's Yahia van der Saar got control of the ball when Francisco Montae tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuralp Akbal in the 36th minute of play forced Sheriff's goalkeeper Yahia van der Saar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the game, Sheriff's Emmanouil Paltopoulos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Manuel Campens made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Nuralp Akbal made the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute Emmanouil Paltopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Campens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pagos FC's Manuel Campens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clayton Gol in the 55th minute of play. Sheriff made a substitution. Kostas Kapellos replaced Christodoulos Parlapipas. Notis Filippas made in the 58th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Clayton Gol. 60 minutes into the match, Pagos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Telis Lianos came free, but Manuel Campens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60thth minute of the game Telis Lianos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pagos FC's Manuel Campens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Yahia van der Saar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Montae in the 62nd minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Pagos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Telis Lianos came free, but Manuel Campens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clayton Gol in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manuel Campens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Clayton Gol put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Manuel Campens. Pagos FC made a substitution. Christos Bartzokas replaced Jason Statham. Pagos FC's Argyris Panteliadis was substituted for Mjölnir Martelo. In the 78th minute Sheriff were awarded a corner. Akakios Trachanas went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Sheriff's corner Akakios Trachanas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Manuel Campens quite easily take care of the ball. Manuel Campens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clayton Gol in the 81st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clayton Gol in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manuel Campens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clayton Gol got free with Manuel Campens in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 93rd minute, Nuralp Akbal made a precise shot to the right of Yahia van der Saar. Sheriff's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
