In the 22nd minute, Domenec Cediel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Natawoot Sikapan charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Natawoot Sikapan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gonzalo Modet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artemio Bernal in the 36th minute of play. Gonzalo Modet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artemio Bernal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gonzalo Modet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Artemio Bernal's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. After 39 played minutes Taiwan Engineers Company got a freekick which was hit by Wipat Sagounchom. Krailerk Chainet scored 3-1 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pikanate Savetvet, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Artemio Bernal was the one to do the kick off. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Domenec Cediel sped through Taiwan Engineers Company's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gonzalo Modet. After some careless play in the Taiwan Engineers Company defense, Domenec Cediel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gonzalo Modet. The Taiwan Engineers Company fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gonzalo Modet should have stopped the shot. Nathongchai Soisuwan's late challenge caught a Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gonzalo Modet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domenec Cediel in the 59th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Domenec Cediel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gonzalo Modet. Taiwan Engineers Company's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Domenec Cediel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Domenec Cediel put it in 7-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gonzalo Modet. A collision led to Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Phanlop Nimnoi hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri's Wachirawit Kongpetch got a free kick in the 70th minute. Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri made a substitution. Warayu Plpl replaced Piyapong Jamjai. Pikanate Savetvet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamín Rollheiser in the 72nd minute of play. 72 minutes into the game, Taiwan Engineers Company's Benjamín Rollheiser nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pikanate Savetvet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domenec Cediel in the 75th minute of play forced Taiwan Engineers Company's goalkeeper Gonzalo Modet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gonzalo Modet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domenec Cediel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 77 minutes, Chanathip Chanthong mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Taiwan Engineers Company and the Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri's goalkeeper Pikanate Savetvet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Domenec Cediel in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gonzalo Modet prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Natawoot Sikapan was shown his second yellow card after 86 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 87th minute, Natawoot Sikapan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 89 played minutes Taiwan Engineers Company got a freekick which was hit by Krailerk Chainet. 94 minutes into the game, Knattspyrnufélag Akureyri's Domenec Cediel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gonzalo Modet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-2.
