An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin López in the 4th minute of play forced Floripa Lions FSCMZ's goalkeeper José Paulo Sampaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Paulo Sampaio came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by In-Crivel EC's Joel Lopes. But to his dismay, Joel Lopes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. João Paulo Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo Viana in the 17th minute of play forced Floripa Lions FSCMZ's goalkeeper José Paulo Sampaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geraldo Viana scored 0-2 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Paulo Sampaio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The long shot by Bruno Bueno in the 22nd minute really tested Ediberto Pereira's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 24 minutes into the match, Joel Lopes notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Floripa Lions FSCMZ's José Paulo Sampaio. José Paulo Sampaio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arnaldo Brodel kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Ediberto Pereira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Bueno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ediberto Pereira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo Novaes, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. In the 46th match minute, Floripa Lions FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedrão Paranaense to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rodolfo Novaes to make the kick off. Joel Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of In-Crivel EC booed when Floripa Lions FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wiliam Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Baltazar Arruda managed to get in a good position for a shot. In-Crivel EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Baltazar Arruda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Paulo Sampaio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
