Grêmio Fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Verdão da Mantiqueira the free kick. Décio Andrade hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. When Jerônimo Gerber came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Verdão da Mantiqueira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerônimo Gerber couldn't finish the play. If Luiz Fernando Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albertinho Fontes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Naldo Félix in the 38th minute of the match. A hard shot 39 in the game by Luiz Fernando Loureiro from a close distance when the talented Albertinho Fontes managed to make a qualified save. Verdão da Mantiqueira's players were relieved. Luiz Fernando Loureiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. After 64 played minutes Verdão da Mantiqueira got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Cearense. Albertinho Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Loureiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute.
