Yaqub Cämilov hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Laçın Cumayev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Tupper in the 7th minute of play. David Llanos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Laçın Cumayev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yaqub Cämilov got free with Peyo Kaadekilde in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 12th match minute, U21 Azerbaijan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bäşir Zaxundov to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute, Deo Mičánek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the match, U21 Azerbaijan's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Tupper came free, but Laçın Cumayev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to U21 Chile getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. David Llanos hit a great ball. Raimundo Tupper struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Laçın Cumayev didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Chile. 29 minutes into the match, U21 Chile's Paulino Oyarzún sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Laçın Cumayev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Laçın Cumayev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Tupper in the 30th minute of play. Peyo Kaadekilde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yaqub Cämilov in the 33rd minute of the match. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Raimundo Tupper sped through U21 Azerbaijan's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Laçın Cumayev. A collision led to U21 Azerbaijan getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Bäşir Zaxundov hit a great ball. After 49 played minutes, U21 Chile's Chano Garrido shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Laçın Cumayev came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in U21 Chile reached it. The U21 Azerbaijan players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. U21 Chile were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Raimundo Tupper made a kick off. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when U21 Chile's Raimundo Tupper in the 52nd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Laçın Cumayev was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for U21 Azerbaijan through an amazing save. Raimundo Tupper succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 52nd playminute. When U21 Chile's Raimundo Tupper in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Azerbaijan's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raimundo Tupper in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Laçın Cumayev prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 65th minute Bäşir Zaxundov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peyo Kaadekilde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Chile's Edgardo Abdallah was substituted for Paulino Oyarzún. U21 Chile's Felo Gol was substituted for David Llanos. After a rather tough play, U21 Azerbaijan's Säftär Güläliyev got a free kick in the 74th minute. Edgardo Abdallah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laçın Cumayev having to interfere. After having played for 77 minutes, Äşräf Ämrahov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Azerbaijan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Äşräf Ämrahov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Peyo Kaadekilde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yaqub Cämilov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 85 minutes into the game, Äşräf Ämrahov cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Peyo Kaadekilde was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 90 played minutes U21 Chile got a freekick which was hit by Edmundo Dávila. Peyo Kaadekilde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bäşir Zaxundov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
