Joep Sligter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Belgium. U21 Netherlands's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Charl De Vreese 27 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Martijn Rockloos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Joep Sligter firmly grabbed it by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Martijn Rockloos during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. It was a well-played corner which Martijn Rockloos managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Eric Oost hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tim Van Brussel in the 46th minute of play forced U21 Netherlands's goalkeeper Joep Sligter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

U21 Netherlands's Joep Sligter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martijn Rockloos in the 52nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, U21 Netherlands's Bart Koekkoek got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 59th match minute, U21 Belgium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charl De Vreese to maneuver through the defense. Steve De Wilde made an important save on a dangerous shot by Big Diamond in the 61st minute. In the 63rd minute, Martijn Rockloos made a precise shot to the right of Joep Sligter. U21 Netherlands's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Joep Sligter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martijn Rockloos in the 67th minute of the match. Joep Sligter didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when U21 Belgium's Charl De Vreese shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 4-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Joep Sligter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augustin Hendrickx, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After a rather tough play, U21 Belgium's Augustin Hendrickx got a free kick in the 86th minute. After 89 minutes of play, U21 Belgium's Charl De Vreese made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joep Sligter was left in no man's land by his defense there! Martijn Rockloos scored 6-1 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joep Sligter, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee ended the match the U21 Belgium players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
