Though ot was a great shot U21 Austria's keeper Julius-Lasse Sandkühler was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. In the 34th minute of the match U21 Romania got a corner. U21 Austria's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Panait Honcioiu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Andrea Šuba was shown his second yellow card after 36 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Arne Kitzbichler kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Arne Kitzbichler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ştefan Tănase having to interfere. After 43 minutes, Eugen Oltean mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Romania and the U21 Austria players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of U21 Austria booed when U21 Romania was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugen Oltean didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldão Messi in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julius-Lasse Sandkühler saved U21 Austria from getting behind. 60 minutes into the match, U21 Austria's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldão Messi came free, but Julius-Lasse Sandkühler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 61 minutes into the game, Filip Miu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Romania's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Austria the free kick. The supporters of U21 Austria booed when U21 Romania was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filip Miu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had been going on for 62 minutes Reinhold Stubbe shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Ştefan Tănase when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. Ştefan Tănase showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas-Marius Strauss in the 69th minute of the match. Mario Diling's late challenge caught a U21 Romania's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mario Diling helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of U21 Romania booed when U21 Austria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julius-Lasse Sandkühler showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Șerban Horea in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julius-Lasse Sandkühler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 77th minute of the match Panait Honcioiu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julius-Lasse Sandkühler skillfully saved the ball. In the 78th minute, U21 Austria's Arne Kitzbichler ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ştefan Tănase. Ştefan Tănase yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. After 83 minutes of play, U21 Austria's Hans Schertz made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ştefan Tănase was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched U21 Austria eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
